Have you joined the City-Wide ‘Quest for the Golden Rooster’?

Posted on January 18, 2017

CityMash.com - In preparation for the 2017 Lunar New Year, LunarFest invites you to join the “Quest for the Golden Rooster”. The most fearless of warriors are encouraged to search the city to find the hidden Golden Roosters.

If you are lucky enough to track down one of these elusive creatures, quickly capture a photograph, but keep it cropped close – you don’t want to give the location away to your adversaries. Share your rooster hunting achievement on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and include the tags #LunarFestPet & whichever tag is on the card with the rooster.

Each post clocks up points, and the competitor with the most points on February 6th wins two nights at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Even better, runners-up get a golden rooster & a plain rooster in the colour of their choice.

You could be taking one of these babies home with you!

There are also many additional prizes that will be announced soon.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to earn your rooster like a genuinely noble warrior you can adopt one by either purchasing online or at the festival site itself.  You had best hurry up, though; there are limited supplies and they are flying off the shelves.

Discover how much fun you could be having on the Quest for the Golden Rooster by watching the video below.

Since 2007 the Asian-Canadian Special Events Association has hosted LunarFest, a contemporary Asian arts and culture festival to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Vancouver.

The festival itself will be at Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plazza from January 27th – 29th. There will be everything from lunar crafts and songwriting to fortune telling and the “Rooster Olympic Games.“.

LunarFest will also be hosting a family day at Oakridge Cantre on Jan 22nd and an Art of the Rooster exhibition from Jan 18th until Feb 5th.
