CityMash.com - A beautiful partnership between the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and the B.C. Parks Association is now underway.
Beginning January 29, ICBC will offer commemorative license plates that flaunt our province’ s lakes, mountains, and wildlife. These pretty plates will be sold to advertise our parks and raise funds to improve them.
This is apart of B.C. Parks’ Future Strategy, launched with $22.9 million in government funds, to accommodate the loads of new visitors our province has gotten because of its sublime wilderness.
“We want to empower British Columbians and future generations to help protect this legacy together,” B.C.’s Minister of Environment, Mary Polak, said about the strategy.
Designs featured in the plates:
1. Porteau Cove is the main scuba diving attraction of a park located between Horseshoe Bay and Squamish. Campsites here are open year round to satisfy your scuba diving needs!
2. The golden kermode bear, found exclusively in the northern part of our province, represents the rare wildlife of our north. And doesn’t he look so honored to have been chosen?
3. The alpine peaks of B.C.’s interior Purcell Mountains is the last design. A breathtaking view of one of the largest living ecosystems in our province.
Net profits from the $50 plates will go directly back into the preserved parks we so love! So hit up your local Autoplan broker and buy one so other drivers can fawn over that bear’s precious smile.
