The 11 Most Instagrammed Restaurants in Vancouver

Posted on March 7, 2017 - The wonderful people of Vancouver sure do love their #foodporn and #brunch photos, because nothing is real until it’s on Instagram.

It is near impossible to scroll through your feed without seeing a thousand pictures of light bulb bubble teas, freakshakes, poke bowls, and fried chicken and waffles. We get it matchababe98, you’re crazy about matcha lattes and you have a mild chai addiction.

It is no secret that being able to eat your cake and get likes for it on Instagram is the best of both worlds (insert Hannah Montana joke here). So in an effort to relieve you from FOMO, we’ve rounded up some of the most instagrammed restaurants in Vancouver.

Scroll down for inspiration on where to eat next in this beautiful and rainy city.

PappaRoti, 1505 Robson Street

PappaRoti is where all of the buns are at. Peanut butter and jam. Strawberries and whipped cream. Bananas and chocolate. Maple syrup and ice cream. And as the great thinker Sir Mix-A-Lot once posited, “my anaconda don’t want none unless you’ve got buns, hon.”

Tacofino, Various Locations

Thanks to Tacofino for teaching us that all is fair in love, war, and tacos. With tacos filled with chorizo, chimichurri, fried shallots, pineapples, and even wasabi mayo, no other taco can step to a Tacofino taco. All they need now is salt bae.

Poké Time, 1258 Robson Street

The poke bowls at Poké Time are the most beautiful things you’ll ever see. They are actual works of art and exist to be photographed. It’s a mystery how raw cubed fish sitting on a bed of rice can look so good. And they don’t even need filters.

49th Parallel Coffee Roasters, Various Locations

Coffee is to the people of Vancouver what spinach was to Popeye. And no one does coffee like 49th Parallel Coffee Roasters. It definitely doesn’t hurt that their Main Street location serves doughnuts from Lucky’s Doughnuts as well. Try the PB&J Remix doughnut hot and fresh out the kitchen. It will change your life like the Ignition remix changed R.Kelly’s.

Off the Grid Waffles, 2665 Kingsway

Roses are red. Violets are blue. Off the Grid Waffles has an endless stream of treats just for you. Even in this weather, ice cream, waffle cups, and milkshakes are still good ideas.

Pro Tip: If Snowbruary is getting you down, they also have hot waffle drinks.

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar, Various Locations

Everyone has been wrong for years; a waffle is the most important meal of the day. And if not at Nero, where else can you have craft beer or a mimosa with your brie, walnuts, and honey waffle? But don’t tell Off the Grid Waffles because it’s still cheating even when you’re on a break. You can ask Ross and Rachel.

L’Abattoir, 217 Carrall Street

It is an unwritten rule that if your English muffin costs $17 you should definitely show it off on Instagram. Just pretend you’re in an episode of Gossip Girl as you knock back a Gastown Swizzle in your argyle sweater #blessed.

Café Medina, 780 Richards Street

Café Medina is like the Damn Daniel of brunch (if Damn Daniel didn’t fade away before you could finish saying “back at it again with the white vans”). They close at 3 p.m. and are quite busy because everything on their menu is honestly so delicious. If you’re able to get a table, then by all means, share it with the whole world. In the immortal words of that one girl we all know, “take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

Nelson the Seagull, 315 Carrall Street

Nelson the Seagull is another place that will make all your brunch wishes come true. Indulge yourself in soft poached eggs and avocado on buttered sourdough toast, use their stylish interior as a backdrop for your “candid” photos, and watch all of the likes flood in. #youarewelcome.

Cartems Donuterie, Various Locations

Dozens of jaw-dropping donuts. @cartemsdonuts

A post shared by Foodee Inc. (@foodee_inc) on

With so many creative flavors and options to choose from, Cartems Donuterie is THE doughnut paradise. Their Canadian Whiskey Bacon doughnut is a must-try. If whiskey and bacon had a child and then hired maple syrup as a nanny, that child would be this doughnut.

Cacao 70, 1047 Denman Street

With grilled marshmallows, crepes stuffed with cheesecake, chocolate hazelnut pizzas, and milk chocolate fondue, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this is quickly becoming a Vancouver favourite. It’s Cacao 70’s world, we’re just living in it.
