10 Things to Do in Vancouver this Weekend – Mar 10-12, 2017

On the bright side, there’s lots of amazing stuff to do this weekend from sports events and concerts to art shows and festivals. On the not so bright side, this weekend is Daylight Savings, meaning we lose an hour of sleep on Saturday. So don’t forget to set your clocks!

Here are 10 awesome things you can do around Vancouver this weekend:

Get artsy at FUSE: Refuse

Head to the Vancouver Art Gallery on March 10th for FUSE: Refuse, an adult-only art music performance that features theatre, dance, DJs, musical acts and art. This year’s theme is a celebration of refusal and denial.

Gear up for St. Patrick’s Day at Celtic Fest Vancouver

Celtic Fest Vancouver comes to town March 10-18th with concerts and events all around the city. The festival starts with an Irish Sports Night on March 10th followed by nights out at the Blarney Stone on March 11th and 12th. All of these nights lead up to a full day of events next weekend to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Get wild at the Canada Sevens Official After Party: Prop House

Celebrate the Canada Sevens rugby tournament at their official after party at the Commodore Ballroom on March 11th. Event organizers are promising the best 90’s video dance party with graffiti art, inflatable flamingos and a costume contest.

Watch a film at the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival

2017 marks the 12th year of the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. The festival will showcase short and feature films by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world. As well as films, there will also be artist talks, networking events, workshops, awards ceremonies, a screenplay competition and panel discussions.

Pour a glass at BC Uncorked

BC Uncorked is a BC-focused food and wine festival. The festival will feature wines from over 45 BC wineries paired with foods from local restaurants and caterers. BC Uncorked will be held on Saturday, March 11th at the Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club.

Snowshoe on a Watershed Tour

On Saturday, head to Mount Seymour for an active snowshoe tour where you’ll also learn about alpine plants and animals. But the main focus of the tour is to understand the connection between snow and our drinking water. After your time snowshoeing you’ll get to relax with a warm cup of cocoa.

If you’re already on Mount Seymour this Saturday for the watershed tour, stick around to watch some amazing snowboarding skills at the Vans Hi-Standard Series. Watch some of the best snow tricks you’ve ever seen at this competition where style is everything.
